Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or when you pick up the vehicle. This agreement outlines the terms, conditions, insurance provisions, fees, and your responsibilities regarding the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take priority.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Alloa Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, although age limits may differ based on the vehicle type, with potential extra charges for drivers under 25. You need a valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Please present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with valid payment information and a security deposit. Additional requirements may apply as specified in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Alloa office. A deposit may be needed to confirm your booking. The total payment and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle from Alloa Car Hire, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. We will complete a vehicle condition report that both you and our representative will sign. Please return the vehicle in the same condition in which it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. You must return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at collection; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. If you anticipate returning the vehicle late, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss potential additional fees. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with a related administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Coverage
- All rentals in Alloa include basic third-party insurance. The Rental Agreement outlines full coverage details and any excess amounts that apply. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial exposure. It’s important to review these options closely. You remain liable for damages or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you opt for extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms is your responsibility, irrespective of insurance status.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses:
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky pursuits is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to others is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle is intended for specific purposes, and exceeding passenger or weight limits is unacceptable. Operating the vehicle outside of the agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent is also prohibited.
Breach of these terms could lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Alloa will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraudulent activities.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts in this jurisdiction.

We can update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately once posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
